Our newest family member...

I know I've been so remiss in posting on the blog. We've had VBS, friends and family visiting, etc., plus all of us have colds and feel so lousy. We've had a lot going on, and I will post about all that later, but for now, I want to introduce our newest family member to you all.

Our newest member of the Wilhite/McCann brood, Meghan Clare made her appearance on June 17, 2009. Janelle was such a trooper, giving birth to her 9 lb, 6 oz baby with NO EPIDURAL! We are all so proud of her and can't wait to meet our newest little niece. We are praying for them as they adjust to life as a family of five. Congratulations Collin and Janelle!! We love you and miss you all!

Sometimes a song can say exactly what you were thinking but couldn't put into words...

This song has really meant a lot to me over the years. It is by Natalie Grant. I don't know how to upload the video onto blogger, but just click the link below and it'll take you right to it.

The song is called, "Held" and the words are a little confusing at first, but basically what it is saying is this: God didn't say that we wouldn't go through hard times; what He did say is that He would be there through it.

Also, here is a quote I took from this web-site about interpreting the words of this song.
http://womenbygrace.com/christian-life/when-bad-things-happen-to-christians/

"...When the worst happens, when our hearts are broken and cold with grief, when we feel farthest from Him we are called to remember that He hasn’t promised a life without heartache - but He has promised to be there.
Knowing this is a comfort to those who believe that there is more to life than life on earth. This is only bearable because we have placed our faith in God’s promise of eternity. Someday He will wipe away our tears of pain and we will at last know what it is like to live without fear of loss. We will experience pure joy and awesome security without the presence of evil and death.
Until then, his arms are enough."
“The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms” -Deuteronomy 33:27 (NIV)

6 Years Together...

Today Stephen and I celebrated 6 years together and I gotta say, it's been an awesome 6 years. I am so blessed to have such an awesome husband. So, in honor of this day I'm listing 11 things (yes I know that's a very random number, but just go with it) that I love about my husband.

1. I really can't imagine my life with anyone else. It's like God made him for me. He's the perfect fit for me.
2. He is my best friend and has been for a long time.
3. He is so supportive and loving and is always there for me no matter what I am going through.
4. He fiercely loves his family. He is so committed to us.
5. He is a great dad. Hope adores him. The first thing I hear every morning when I walk into her room to get her is, "Where's Daddy?" (Thanks kid, I carried you in my womb and everything, but whatever!) LOL!
6. He loves their "Daddy/Daughter" time together. He takes her to do all sorts of fun stuff and she just soaks it all in.
7. He gets my sense of humor like no one else does.
8. He helps with household chores.
9. He'll talk to me about anything. He is an open book.
10. He is a hard worker and takes his commitment to provide for his family very seriously.
11. He loves God with all his heart and this shows in every aspect of his life.
